Hey there blogger buddies!
I'm thinking Spring today!!  I've met my quota of Valentine cards and I'm movin' on even though the ground hog saw his shadow!  Tomorrow is Mardi Gras, which is French for Fat Tuesday as most people know it.  Celebrated in different ways throughout the world, it's a Christian festival day(s) prior to Ash Wednesday which signifies the  beginning of Lent.

Here's my Mardi Gras inspiration using the Tutti Designs Scalloped Stitched Nesting Ovals and Celebrate Word Set...

Colorful beads, masks and costumes of purple, green and gold are common sights during the festivities.  I used these colors as inspiration for my "Celebrate" card.

I die cut and embossed the focal background oval using the Scalloped Stitched Nesting Ovals then matted it with a larger oval cut from the same dies.  The Fleur de Lis is another French symbol often seen throughout Mardi Gras celebrations and I just happened to have an embossing folder with the Fleur de Lis design.

Added a fun mask...

Double D Challenge "Sequins here, sequins there..."

Good morning blogger friends!

Ahhh, it's February...the month of Love and time for another fun challenge on the Double D Challenge Blog.  With Valentine's Day just a week away,  I used this opportunity to create another lovely Valentine!

Team Diane is hosting this challenge along with the help of Team Darlene and the theme is "Sequins"! Who doesn't love those small, shiny decorative disks? I know that I do!

The mood board offers a range of inspiration from colors to shapes and details.  Choose one, two, three, or all four of the photos to inspire your project.  Link it up to the Double D Challenge Blog post, "Sequins" by midnight on February 18th for the chance to be our "Top Creative Winner"or one of the "Top 3" chosen by our Design Team.  You could also be the winner chosen by random draw for the awesome prize shown below.

Paper Trey Ink Sparkle & Shine Sequin Dies

Here's your mood board inspiration...

In addition to the sequins, I was inspired by the pink and silver colors...

I used basically all silver and pink on this card except for the white card base and a splash of white here and there. The three hearts are stacked with foam tape for added dimension.  I "frosted" the top of the largest heart with heart shaped sequins.  The middle heart is cut from the same silver glitter paper that I used as matting for the dotted patterned paper.  I created a mini shaker image in the center of the smallest heart by using yet a smaller one to die cut the window.  The window is made from re-purposed packaging.  I added silver, pink and a few of the heart shaped sequins behind the window.  The heart that was cut out for the window became my sentiment background.  I created a multi loop bow and added an "XO" button to the center of it.  A couple of pearl stick pins and a few scattered sequins complete the details on my card.

And voila!!  Another fun Valentine card to add to my stash.

Thanks for stopping by to share my "Sequin" inspiration for the Double D Challenge Blog.

Die Cuttin' Diva Guest Designer "Love"

Hey there blogger friends!
Today I'm happy to be sharing a card as a guest designer on the Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge Blog.  I was so excited to be invited back again.

Thank you, Die Cuttin' Divas!
This week's challenge uses the sketch below...

Since Valentine's Day will be here soon, it was the obvious choice for the theme of my card.

This 5" x 7" card has an ivory base layered with a combination of Graphic 45's Calendar Pages and Amour Collections matted with a coordinating green. I love vintage Valentines and these papers were the perfect choice.

For my take on the sketch, I made the center circle a square cut using the Tutti Designs Scalloped Stitched Nesting Squares.  I cut the hearts using the Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Hearts.  The placement of the largest heart die on the patterned paper allowed for the sentiment to be included.

I placed a third heart cut around the word "Always" behind and just above the sentiment word, "Love",  another Tutti Designs die.

From my stash...
Bazzill Cardstock
Graphic 45 Amour and Calendar Pages Collections
Tutti Designs Die Cuts
Love Word Set
Nesting Stitched Hearts
Scalloped Stitched Nesting Squares

Love how this card turned out...

Happy Birthday Valentine!

Happy Monday, blogger friends!
Today I'm sharing my first February inspiration project.

January is behind us and we are celebrating February, the month of love.  I've been on a roll creating Valentine cards and today is no different.  I have a very dear cousin that will be celebrating her birthday on the 14th and this one's for her.

Today I'm using Tutti Designs Dotted Nesting Circles, Flower Cart, Nesting Stitched Hearts, Happy Word Set and Birthday Word Set on my card.

"Happy Birthday"

I've created a square 6" x 6" card, which happens to be my "go to" size when making cards.  There's something about having 4 symmetrical sides that makes me feel like I'm working on a mini layout. I layered a tiny honeycomb print over the pink base.  The circle cut out frames the colorful flower cart focal point.

I used the largest Dotted Nesting Circle to cut a hole in both the cardstock base and patterned paper.

The pink circle cut from the card front is adhered inside the card and acts as the background for the die cut Flower Cart image.

And, then...the fun began!  I cut the flower cart from black glitter paper and adhered it to the pink circle inside the card.  Next, I started adding Flower Soft to fill in the floral arrangements on the cart.  I made a tri fold heart to embellish the top of the flower cart using small hearts that are scored and adhered together.  A pink heart is the wheel hub.

I was so thrilled with the results using the Flower Soft!
